EGTs help clients become aware of harmful and unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that get in the way of healthy relationships, meaningful work, and feeling joy. Experiential activities help clients understand themselves better, including their values, limiting beliefs, and stuck points. Processing insights in a group setting offers clients healing experiences of being known, understood, and supported.

Clinicians’ perspectives
on the Focus EGT…

CHRISTINA MARTIN, LPC-S, LMFT-S

“I am a trauma and addiction trained therapist and have designed and run my own multi-day intensive program, so if I’m being honest, I wasn’t expecting anything earth shattering from Focus. Of all the intensive trainings I’ve been to, all across the country, and from some big named people in the industry, Focus has been the thing that gave me the most. The people I went through the program with are like family and it has changed the way I do therapy. I’m the most full version of myself I’ve ever been. Going to Focus was the best decision I have made, personally and professionally. I can’t recommend it more!"

COLLIN RHOADE, MA, LPCC

“Therapists hold so many stories and so much space for those we work with. Focus is an extremely unique opportunity to dive into our own stories, challenge ourselves, and to have others hold space for us. Going through the training reminded me of all the reasons I began this work in the first place: the hope that real change is closer than we think, and what’s possible when we move through obstacles and know ourselves deeply.”

KENDRA STIERS, MS, LPCC

“Focus intrigued me from the first night because I was able to see many theories of counseling used within a single, experiential context. I felt trust for a process that I didn’t understand yet because of the modalities I was seeing. The process helped me remove barriers in my own life in order to be a more effective counselor. 3 years after Focus I still feel more alive than I ever did before the training. This experience has given me more boldness in therapy and given me language to help clients identify and remove their own barriers. On both a personal and professional level, Focus has improved my life.

CHRISTIE OROSZ, MA, LPCC-S

“As a counselor that’s done a lot of personal work to heal past wounds and to be mindful of heart, mind, body, and soul health, I was skeptical to engage in one more personal growth endeavor. I’m so glad I said yes— I’ve never experienced so much honest feedback, truth that I was hungry for , and experiential learning & engagement. Focus managed to engage me emotionally, physically, spiritually, and mentally. I’ve found myself naturally incorporating the principles and lessons from Focus into my therapy sessions. And I often share the experience with clients who desire more personal growth and to overcome blocks and barriers to achieving their goals.”

It is a masterpiece of an environment. At Focus I got in touch with deep parts of me that I’d buried long ago. I accepted truths, deconstructed lies, and picked up tools for the journey ahead. I became a more genuine me. Wish I had done it 10 years earlier.
